About Us
Our residents are the reason we are here. Our community revolves around our residents. Home is more than just a place to live. We create a home by building relationships, offering encouragement and friendships, creating a place to pursue interests and live a full and rewarding life.
Over a half a century ago, a group of innovative Danforth residents recognized the need for a residential center to provide Christian care for the seniors in their lives and the community. With their vision and faith in God to guide them, these determined people rallied area Lutheran churches and their congregations to embrace their cause and formed “Lutheran Home for Aged Development Corporation” in 1971.
With open hearts and persistence, the founders reached out to friends and family for their financial support. In less than five months, enough money was gathered to advance to the groundbreaking of Prairieview Lutheran Home and the beginning of their dream.
Today, nestled on 9.5 acres of rolling farmland and Midwestern meadows, Prairieview Lutheran Homes has expanded to include four companion sites:

Our Mission
Mindful of our Lord’s command…..to love and serve one another, including those in their golden years, the member congregations of Lutheran Home for Aged Development Corporation have organized for the purpose of providing, through Prairieview Lutheran Home, care of the highest quality for those given to our concern. Sharing not only our time and talents, but also the common joy in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
While always recognizing each resident’s individuality — with his or her own needs and feelings – respect, courtesy, patience, and gentleness will be shown to all in a loving, Christian atmosphere. Everyday life will be made as full and rewarding as possible in order that appreciation for today and anticipation for tomorrow may complement the remembrance of yesterday.
It is the policy of Prairieview Lutheran that we prohibit discrimination based on race, sex, age, religion, disability, national origin, and “any other characteristic protected by law.” We do not tolerate discrimination in employment decisions and will remedy any violation. Prairieview Lutheran has a requirement that all employees are to report any instances of perceived discrimination and we prohibit retaliation against any employee who makes a report in good faith. In addition, all residents are admitted regardless of race, age, sex, national origin, color, or handicap. Treatment and placement within our facility is done on a non-discrimination basis. All services are provided without distinction to all residents regardless of race, age, sex, national origin, color, or handicap.
